Keep working with your spreadsheets while offline
Want to view or edit your Num Sum spreadsheet when there's
no web connection?
No problem.
Just keep your browser open on your Num Sum spreadsheet page. You can still view and edit your spreadsheet (but not save it) when your internet connection or wifi is down.
Or, if want your own local, savable copy of the spreadsheet, just save your Num Sum spreadsheet to your local disk. Here's how...
1. Use the "File | Save Page As" menu command on your web browser.
2. Pick a directory and file name for your spreadsheet .htm file,
and be sure to use the "Web Page, complete" option.
3. After the .htm page downloads, open it up in your web browser and use your
Num Sum spreadsheet just like normal.
The only difference is you're working locally,
without needing a connection to the web.
Your URL location bar should have the "file:" prefix (or "C:" prefix)
instead of the "http:" prefix.
4. Firefox users: while working offline, do a "File | Save Page As" anytime
you want to save your changes locally. Internet Explorer users: apologies, we're still
debugging this for you.
5. When you're later reconnected to the internet,
you can post your edits back online:
just click on the "Upload Changes" button which you'll find below your spreadsheet.
